Ask a dermatologist if a chemical peels is right for you. This involves placing chemicals over affected skin to remove acne scars and smooth out skin tone. The peel used depends on the severity of scars. Lighter peels don't require healing time and can eliminate mild scarring. Deeper peels are used for moderate to severe scars and may require up to two weeks recovery time.
