How to Make Homemade Solutions to Get Rid of Acne Fast
There are numerous commercial acne products on the market, but spending money is not the only way to get rid of pimples. Budget-conscious individuals can treat breakouts with common household items such as yogurt, sugar, lemon juice and aspirin. These ingredients are sources of mild chemical exfoliants known as alpha and beta hydroxy acids. When applied to the skin, they help treat acne by removing pore-clogging substances such as excess oil and dead skin cells.
Pour the sugar and yogurt into a bowl. Combine thoroughly to create an evenly textured paste.
Apply the mixture to a dry face using a circular motion. This is a non-abrasive exfoliating cleanser; the alpha hydroxy acids present in the sugar and yogurt will help remove dead cells naturally. Avoid scrubbing, as the sugar granules may cut skin and further irritate blemishes.
Let the mixture sit for five minutes before washing off with lukewarm water.
Acne Spot Treatment
Stir the baking soda and water together, then set aside.
Wrap the ice cube in a washcloth and apply it to the blemish to help reduce swelling. The "Green Beauty Guide" recommends using the ice treatment "for as long as you can stand the cold," but no longer than 10 minutes.
Place the uncoated aspirin in a shallow dish.
Sprinkle lemon juice over the tablet until it begins to dissolve, then use a spoon to crush it into a thick paste.
Dab the mixture onto the blemish. Let dry for 10 minutes, then wipe off using a cotton ball soaked in the baking soda and water mixture. This solution will neutralize the acid.
