How to Make Homemade Skin Care for Acne
Acne is a skin condition that few people are able to avoid in a lifetime. Commercial products designated for acne tend to contain harsh chemicals designed to dry the skin. Sometimes these preparations can cause excessive drying and irritation to already inflamed skin.
For thousands of years, olive oil has been used to nourish and heal skin by offering balance and acne reduction. The calendula flower is commonly used in natural skin products for its skin nourishing properties. The antimicrobial elements in lavender and tea tree essential oils work hard to reduce inflammation and address bacterial conditions in problem skin. Using these natural acne fighting tools, you can make your own acne treatment that balances problem skin, thereby promoting a clean and clear complexion.
Fill a glass jar with fresh or dried calendula flowers and cover with extra virgin olive oil.
Allow jar to sit in a warm sunny spot for two weeks.
Strain plant material out of oil.
Pour calendula infused oil into a small glass jar. Add 15 drops lavender essential oil and 10 drops tea tree essential oil shaking well to emulsify.
Apply three drops skin balancing oil to freshly washed face twice a day.
