How to Make a Face Mask That Treats Pimples
No one likes breakouts, but most people experience acne at some point during their lives. While there are numerous over-the-counter remedies available to treat acne, you can make a face mask that treats pimples at home with simple ingredients and almost no effort. If you're looking for ways to save money, control the chemicals you bring into your home, or just interested in do-it-yourself projects, you can make an effective acne mask at home.
Remove any makeup, and wash your face thoroughly with a mild, gentle cleanser. Pat your face dry with a towel.
Mix together 1 tbsp. baking soda and 1 to 2 tbsp. water, using your fingers or a toothpick, until it forms a thick paste. Add more water or baking soda to get a thick consistency.
Use your fingers to apply the baking soda mixture all over your face, avoiding your eye area. Cover your face with the mixture, avoiding your eyes.
Let the baking soda mix dry on your skin until it hardens, for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Rinse your face completely, removing all the baking soda mixture. Pat your face dry, and follow with a light application of oil-free moisturizer. Repeat two or three times each week.
