How to Get Rid of Pimples, Fast & Quick
Pimples are a type of inflamed acne that often has a whitehead containing pus. Pimples form when the oil glands under the skin, known as the sebaceous glands, produce too much sebum, or oil. This oil usually hydrates the skin, but when excessive amounts block the pores--along with dirt and bacteria--pimples form. The Mayo Clinic notes that hormonal changes along with some genetic traits may be the main causes of sebum overproduction leading to acne.
Apply a glycolic acid peel to your pimples. You can buy glycolic acid peels in most drugstores. They contain a mild acid derived from fruit that is high in alpha-hydroxy acids, or AHAs. Leave the peel on for 20 minutes before rinsing it off. AHAs remove the surface layers of dead skin cells and clean out the pores, allowing pimples to subside.
Take aspirin or ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation of pimples. These medicines are painkillers, but they also have anti-inflammatory qualities that will help calm the redness and swelling of pimples. Take the recommended adult dose up to four times a day.
Dip a gauze pad in tea tree oil and apply it to pimples. Leave it on for several minutes, then rinse it off. Repeat three times daily. Tea tree oil contains antimicrobial properties that clean the pores of bacteria and infection. It also has soothing and calming effects to reduce swelling and redness.
Dip a cotton ball in lemon juice and apply it to pimples. Leave it on for several minutes, then rinse it off. Lemon juice has antibacterial properties that can eliminate bacteria and infections from the pores.
Use a honey and oatmeal mask on your pimples. Cook oatmeal and allow it to cool. Mix equal parts of honey and oatmeal, and apply it to pimples. Leave the mixture on for at least 20 minutes, or overnight if you can. Rinse it off with cold water. Honey's antimicrobial qualities may cleanse the skin of infection, and its acidic enzymes may help the body in tissue regeneration.
