How to Get Rid of Dark Spots on the Feet
Overview
Dark spots are not uncommon, but many people find them unsightly and want to get rid of them. Though these spots can occur anywhere on the feet, "Braun-Falco's Dermatology" notes that they are most common on the top of the feet, primarily near the toes and ankles. With daily care, you can fade these spots over the course of 6 to 8 weeks, according to "Handbook of Dermatology: A Practical Manual."
Step 1
Mix 3 tbsp. oatmeal with 1 tbsp. honey and 1 tsp. brown sugar to form a paste. According to "Handbook of Dermatology: A Practical Manual," the oatmeal will hydrate the skin, the brown sugar will gently exfoliate and the honey will lighten the dark spots, all of which are important to fading the spots.
Step 2
Apply a small amount of the paste to a cotton ball. Use the cotton ball to dab the paste on the dark spots of your feet.
Step 3
Allow the paste to dry on your feet. According to "Braun-Falco's Dermatology," this may take 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 4
Rinse the paste off your feet.
