How to Get Rid of Body Pimples
If you are prone to breakouts on the face, you are more likely to develop pimples on the body. These pimples typically appear in parts of the body that are prone to oil, including the back and buttocks. Since the pores on the body are larger than on the face, the pimples can become larger. If you have difficulty treating body acne on your own, make an appointment with a dermatologist to go over your options.
Wear lightweight and cotton clothing. Irritation from tight clothing can lead to pimples on the body.
Shower after exercising. Sweat accumulation can lead to acne breakouts on the body. After exercising or being outdoors on a warm day, take a cool shower to rinse off the perspiration and put on a change of clothing.
Exfoliate the skin in the shower. Get rid of dead skin cells that can clog the pores and lead to breakouts by using an exfoliating sponge while bathing.
Wash off with an acne fighting body cleanser. The cleanser is likely to contain either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to get rid of the pimples. Some brand examples include Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash and Murad Acne Body Wash. Use the cleanser on a daily basis until the pimples clear up. Once they are gone, switch to a mild cleanser free of perfumes to avoid irritating the skin.
Use a clean and dry towel after showering. To keep the skin clean and free from bacteria exposure, gently pat the skin dry with a clean towel.
Moisturize the skin. The ingredients in the acne fighting cleanser can dry out and irritate the skin. Use an oil-free moisturizing body lotion to soften the skin after bathing.
