Overview

Acne can appear anywhere on the skin, including the face, neck, chest and back. Although many people think that facial acne is the most common type of acne that is experienced, body acne is also highly common. Body acne can be painful and embarrassing, and some areas can be difficult to reach in order to properly treat the affected skin. Luckily, there are ways to treat body acne that will cleanse, medicate and moisturize the skin to allow it to clear.

Step 1

Cleanse the body with a natural, fragrance-free soap. Attach a washcloth to the end of a back scratcher using a rubber band; utilizing a back scratcher can help you reach areas of the body that are difficult to reach, such as your back. Wet your body thoroughly with water, and lather up the washcloth with the fragrance-free soap. Spread the lather over the entire affected area; avoid scrubbing or rubbing the skin, which can cause irritation. Rinse skin with warm water. Repeat two times per day.

Step 2

Apply a benzoyl peroxide cream that has a concentration no higher than 2.5 percent in strength. Attach a fresh washcloth to the end of a back scratcher using a rubber band. Squeeze a dime-sized amount of the benzoyl peroxide cream onto the washcloth, and gently spread on the areas of your body affected by acne. Repeat two times per day after the skin has been cleansed.

Step 3

Moisturize the body with an oil-free moisturizing lotion designed for people with sensitive skin. Attach a fresh washcloth to the end of a back scratcher using a rubber band, and squeeze a dime-sized amount of an oil-free moisturizer onto the washcloth. Spread the lotion onto your body two times per day after the benzoyl peroxide cream has been absorbed.
