How to Get Rid of an Acne Spell
Your acne spell forms when your skin produces too much oil, and then that oil gets trapped in your skin follicles. Your skin follicles then get infected and has a chemical reaction that forms acne. The Mayo Clinic says acne can come in many forms. Some of them are blackheads, whiteheads, papules and pustules. All of them cause raised bumps on your skin that are either black or red in color. Some acne can be painful, some are red and most cause raised bumps on your skin. You can get rid of your acne spell by washing your face the right way, taking vitamins and medication.
Stay out of the sun to get rid of your acne spell. One of the main reasons for your acne spell is when you expose your skin to the sunlight. Sun will make your acne spell even worse than it already is. If you must be in direct sunlight, wear clothing and protective gear over your acne, like sunglasses and a hat. Also, wear a sunscreen that is over the SPF of 30. Wear a natural sunscreen that has natural ingredients like zinc or titanium dioxide instead of harsh chemicals.
Avoid touching your acne. When you touch your hands to the area of your skin in which you have your acne spell, you can transfer bacteria from your hands to your acne spell and make it much worse than it is. If your acne spell itches or is inflamed, not not touch it.
Try intense pulsed light treatment to get rid of your acne spell. IPL can be done by your doctor to get rid of the redness and inflammation of your acne. IPL is a procedure in which your doctor points a laser beam full of many different lengths of light to target the bacteria in your acne. IPL can help get rid of you acne without causing scarring. The Mayo Clinic recommends IPL for people who can't tolerate other kinds of medication because of chemicals or side effects.
Go to your doctor for a topical treatment. There are skin creams that will reduce the redness and swelling of your acne. The Mayo Clinic says Avita, Retin-A and Renova will increase the rate at which your skin cells produce, which will help get rid of your acne spell. These medications will prevent your skin follicles from clogging up with oil.
Go to your doctor for antibiotic medication to get rid of your acne spell. Antibiotics can kill the bacteria and oil in your acne. The Mayo Clinic says the most common kinds of antibiotics your dermatologist will prescribe are benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin, like Benzaclin, Duac, Acanya. If you are sensitive to medication, this treatment is not for you. Antibiotics can cause an upset stomach and dizziness. The Mayo Clinic recommends taking an oral and topical antibiotic at the same time. The Mayo Clinic says studies show taking topical benzoyl combined with an oral medication can greatly reduce the chance you develop resistance to antibiotics.
