You wash your face in the morning, but by lunchtime, your nose has started to get greasy. According to "Cosmopolitan," women of all ages can experience oily skin, but young women have a greater tendency toward it, since their glands are actively producing oil. While this helps your skin stay hydrated and firm, it can also cause excessive shine, not to mention frustration and streaky makeup. Get rid of your greasy nose and fight midday shine by using products designed to balance your skin's oil production and stop the grease before it starts.

Step 1

Use a gentle, oil-free face wash to clean your skin twice a day. According to "Cosmopolitan," products that contain harsh or drying ingredients can strip your skin of its natural oils and actually make your greasy nose worse. Instead, remove the dirt, impurities and excess shine by massaging your damp skin with a mild cleanser. Rinse the product off thoroughly and pat your face dry.

Step 2

Apply an oil-free moisturizer that contains both "mattifiers" and a sunscreen. According to "Allure," exposure to sunlight can increase your skin's production of oil, as well as cause premature signs of aging. Look for a product that promises to provide protection from sun damage and that also includes antioxidants like vitamin C, which both "Allure" and "Cosmopolitan" note helps to control greasy skin. Smooth the moisturizer over your entire face, and apply a little extra on and around your nose. Wait a few minutes for the product to soak in before moving on to the next step.

Step 3

Even out your complexion and fight off shine by applying a powder foundation to your nose and any facial areas where you have discoloration or blemishes. The powder will keep your makeup in place, says "Allure," and it has better staying power than a liquid foundation. Use a makeup sponge or your fingers to blend the product onto your skin and disguise any redness or an uneven tone.

Step 4

Dab your nose with an oil-blotting sheet as soon as you feel it getting greasy. "Allure" suggests using plastic sheets as opposed to paper ones, as the plastic absorbs more grease and is less likely to smear your makeup. Press the sheet onto your nose to soak up the oil, and repeat with a new sheet until your nose is shine-free.
