How to Get Clear, Pale Skin
Attaining clear, lighter colored skin is a common goal among various ethnicities in both men and women. While there are medical treatments for lightening skin, they are often abrasive and unnatural. However, there are natural treatments that can help you to get clearer, lighter skin using essential oils according to Susan Worwood, author of "Essential Aromatherapy: A Pocket Guide to Essential Oils and Aromatherapy," and Julia Lawless, author of "The Encyclopedia of Essential Oils: The Complete Guide to the Use of Aromatic Oils in Aromatherapy, Herbalism, Health and Well-Being."
Combine ½ tsp. Lemon essential oil, ½ tsp. Lime essential oil, ½ tsp. Mandarin essential oil. ½ tsp. Rose essential oil, ½ tsp. Bergamot essential oil, ¼ tsp. Saw palmetto essential oil, ¼ tsp. Geranium essential oil, ¼ tsp. Grapefruit essential oil and 1 cup coconut oil in a dark colored bottle with a tight-fitting lid.
Cover the bottle and shake it gently to combine the essential oils and coconut oil.
Pour a small amount of the mixture into a small bowl with a cotton pad inside. Allow the cotton to soak up the oil for one minute.
Dab the cotton pad on your skin. Let the oil remain on your skin for 20 minutes without wiping it off.
Rinse your skin with cool, clean water. Wash with a gentle cleanser and pat your skin dry with a clean towel before applying a light oil-free moisturizer.
Use this treatment once per day in the evening. Stop using the essential oil mixture if it causes redness, swelling, itching or other irritation.
Keep unused portions of the essential oil mixture in a cool, dark place for 90 days. Throw the essential oil mixture away after 90 days if you have not used it all.
