How to Fade Blemishes How to Fade Blemishes How to Fade Blemishes

You can fade bemishes resulting from sun exposure, aging or acne using a variety of treatments. The amount of fading will depend on the treatment as well as the amount of blemishes. Several weeks of treatment are usually necessary to see results. Natural, at-home treatments, as well as in-office cosmetic skin procedures can fade blemishes.

Step 1

Slice open a lemon. Squeeze the juice into small bowl. Apply the juice to clean skin with a cotton ball. Allow to dry. Splash cool water on your skin to rinse the juice off.

Step 2

Use a bleaching cream that contains hydroquinone---the ingredient is available in 2 percent strength over-the-counter. Apply the cream to the blemish area once a day, or as directed. Wear sunscreen when using the product to protect your skin.

Step 3

Allow a cosmetician to use slightly abrasive microdermabrasion tool on the skin to exfoliate and remove the top skin layers. Removing the top skin will allow younger, healthier skin to appear, and blemishes will gradually disappear. Treatments are available at day spas and dermatologist offices.

Step 4

Make an at-home microdermabrasion solution. Mix 1 cup of salt with 2 tbsp. olive oil. Scrub the mixture onto your skin after cleansing. This will exfoliate your skin and remove dead skin cells. Rinse the mixture off and apply an oil-free lotion. Use three times a week.
