How to Cure Face Acne
You can get acne just about anywhere on your body, but nowhere is it more troubling that on your face. After all, your face is what you present to the world and if you're covered with pimples, it can be hard to know if people are seeing the real you or just blemishes. There are ways to cure face acne, however. It won't be an overnight process, but you can achieve clearer skin by finding a suitable treatment for your skin.
Use a mild facial cleanser to remove dirt and oil. Gently rub the cleanser into your wet skin, then rinse well with warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel. Wash your face twice a day. Don't rub your face. This will only make acne worse.
Use only non-comedogenic products on your skin. This means that they won't form comedones or clogged pores, the primary trigger for acne. When purchasing makeup, sunscreen and moisturizer, look for the non-comedogenic label to make sure it is suitable for acne-prone skin.
Apply topical treatments to cure your face acne. Over-the-counter medications like benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid can be effective for some, but you may need stronger treatments like a topical antibiotic or retinoid, which are only available by prescription.
Take prescription pills to treat your acne. Oral medications like birth control pills, antibiotics and even Accutane are sometimes prescribed to treat particularly stubborn cases of acne. If your acne doesn't respond to topical treatments, consult with your dermatologist about which oral medications would be best for you.
Ask your dermatologist to inject large acne blemishes with a diluted corticosteroid. These injections help acne lesions heal from the inside out and have the added benefit of preventing scarring.
