How to Cure Acne Blemishes
There is no single cure for acne blemishes. Acne can be caused by several factors, including hormonal changes, stress, poor diet, or genetics, so each individual's skin will respond to different treatments. Regardless of the cause of acne, oil, clogged pores, fatty foods and stress will all exacerbate your problem and make finding a cure more difficult. To get rid of your blemishes once and for all, visit your dermatologist, and follow a few simple steps for clearer skin.
Wash your face twice a day with a mild, hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic facial cleanser. Hypoallergenic means that it does not contain ingredients known to cause allergic reactions, and noncomedogenic means it does not contain ingredients that will clog pores.
Apply a mild toner with a cotton ball or pad after cleansing, to clarify the skin and close the pores. Avoid toners that contain harsh chemical ingredients. Witch hazel is a good all-natural choice.
Moisturize your skin with a light, oil-free lotion made for the face, after cleansing and toning. Although pimples are caused by excess oil, it is still important to moisturize. Dryness leads the skin to overproduce oil, which can lead to more breakouts.
Eat a nutritious diet of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and fish. Avoid fatty, high-calorie foods, processed foods, sugar and caffeine, all of which can exacerbate acne.
Drink at least 64 oz. of water every day. Drink more if you exercise or sweat a lot. This keeps the skin hydrated and flushes acne-causing impurities from your system.
