Overview

Blackheads are a type of acne characterized by the appearance of enlarged, darkened pores. Blackheads are caused by bacteria, oils, sebum, and dead skin cells becoming clogged inside the pores, which oxidizes and turns brown. In order to effectively remove blackheads and keep them away, it is important to flush out the pores, remove dead skin cell and hydrate the skin with a light, non-comedogenic oil that will help balance out the oil production in the skin.

Step 1

Flush out the pores using a purgative oil, such as castor oil. Spread 1 tablespoon of castor oil over the skin, and use your fingers to massage the oil in deeply. Focus on massaging the areas that contain the most blackheads. Use slow, circular finger movements. After three minutes, place a bowl onto a flat surface, and fill it will boiling water. Drape a towel over your head, and lean 12 inches over the bowl. Steam your face for five minutes, then use a wet washcloth to wipe off the excess oil. Repeat twice per day.

Step 2

Removed pore-blocking dead skin and bacteria using natural, mildly abrasive substances. In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of ground, raw oats, 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and 2 tablespoons of honey. Spread the mixture onto wet skin, and use the fingers to massage the mixture in. After three minutes, wipe off the mixture back into the bowl, and rinse the skin thoroughly with warm water. Repeat twice per day after flushing out the pores with oil.

Step 3

Hydrate the skin with jojoba oil to keep the pores clear and free of debris. Drop three to four drops of jojoba oil into your palm, and rub the palms together to evenly distribute the oil between them. Gently pat the oil into the skin, covering the area with a thin layer. Repeat twice per day after exfoliation.
