Homemade Remedies for Teenage Acne
Acne is a normal and common part of puberty and almost eight in ten teens have acne, according to TeensHealth website. Hormonal changes in puberty and heredity are the two most common causes of acne -- as the hormone levels change, the body produces more oil, which can clog the pores. Keeping the skin clean, however, can help reduce the amount of oil clogging the pores. Facial masks can also help clear the skin and reduce the instance of breakouts.
Homemade Acne Cleanser
Fill the measuring cup with 1 cup of filtered or distilled water. Cover the measuring cup with plastic wrap and heat in the microwave until the water comes to a boil.
Measure 2 tbsp. each of parsley, rosemary and rose petals --- along with the linden blossoms and calendula --- into the boiling water.
Cover the measuring cup with the plastic wrap. Let the herbs and flowers steep for 20 minutes. Strain the liquid into the blender. Throw away the solid matter.
Add the aloe vera gel, honey and vitamin E oil to the blender. Blend the mixture at high speed for two minutes.
Pour the mixture into the plastic container. Cover the container and store it in the refrigerator for up to one week, between uses.
Splash warm water onto your face. Massage the cleanser into your face, using a circular motion and wipe it away with a soft, damp facecloth. Rinse your face with cool water and pat dry.
Acne Peel-Off Mask
Pour the water and vinegar into the pot. Heat the pot until the liquid is steaming.
Add the gelatin. Stir until it completely dissolves and remove the pot from the heat.
Mix in the rose, lavender and eucalyptus oils with the clary sage. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Spread the mask onto your face, in a thin layer. Let it sit until it dries.
Peel the mask off, rinse your face with cool water and pat dry.
