Homemade Face Masks for Combination Skin

Although homemade facials are beneficial for the skin, combination skin can make devising appropriate facials more difficult. A facial for oily skin will zap moisture from dry areas and a facial created for dry skin won't help minimize acne and shine caused by excessive oil. A facial mask made of Dead Sea mud is a good alternative, as Dead Sea mud contains minerals that will nourish any skin type, leaving the skin smooth and silky.

Step 1

Place 1 tbsp. milk in a small mixing bowl. Alternatively, use 1 tbsp. green tea, which may be beneficial for mature skin.

Step 2

Stir in 2 tbsp. powdered Dead Sea clay or mud. Add the powder gradually, then stir until the mixture forms a smooth paste. Add a few drops of liquid if the paste is too thick, or a bit of powdered clay if the paste seems too thin.

Step 3

Wash your hands with soap and water and then smooth the facial mask over your face and neck. Alternatively, apply the mask with a 1-inch paintbrush. Avoid the area from underneath your eyes to your cheekbones.
