Overview

Blackheads occur when your pores become clogged with oil, dirt and dead skin cells. These pesky black dots can take weeks to disappear on their own and can be very difficult to remove. However, you can create some treatments at home to remove blackheads and the dirt and oil that could cause future occurrences. These methods can speed up the exfoliation necessary to remove impurities in the pores.

Step 1

Create a natural exfoliator by soaking rice in milk for roughly four hours. After you have soaked for this duration, grind the rice in a blender, food processor or other grinder to make a paste. Milk contains lactic acid, a form of alpha hydroxy acid that aids in exfoliation, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. When the rice soaks up the milk, this helps to add an additional layer of exfoliating properties.

Step 2

Apply the paste gently to the face in a circular motion to remove dirt from the pores and increase circulation. Once you have exfoliated the forehead, chin, nose and cheeks, rinse the exfoliator off with warm water. Gently pat your face dry.

Step 3

Mix two spoonfuls of mayonnaise, three shakes of chili powder and two egg whites into a thick mixture that can be applied as a face mask. According to AcneTeam.com, this mixture helps to remove blackheads. Leave on the skin anywhere from five to 10 minutes, then rinse away.

Step 4

Place cucumbers over any affected areas that may appear red or inflamed following your exfoliation and face mask regimen. Cucumbers have anti-inflammatory properties that help to reduce redness. When fresh from your refrigerator, the coolness also helps to restrict blood vessels that may have left your face red.
