According to the American Academy of Dermatology, acne is the result of inflammation, clogged pores, bacteria and excess oil. Acne is mostly common in young adults but anybody can suffer from it. There is a selection of foods that you can consume daily that will help to prevent acne or treat it.

Carrots

Carrots contain high sources of vitamin A. Mainly known for helping your eyes, vitamin is also essential for healthy skin. Vitamin A, in conjunction with carotenoids keeps the protective tissue of your skin firm. It helps to prevent acne formation by reducing sebum production on your skin. Sebum are natural humans oils made by your body to help keep your skin hydrated, but too much sebum can result in acne. Vitamin A also helps the body in dealing with oxidative stress caused by free-radicals, which may damage the skin.

Soybeans

Soybeans contain zinc, which is an essential trace mineral effective in treating acne. Zinc works by healing your skin tissues and prevents acne scarring. It reduces the severity of acne by regulating the activity of your oil glands. Low amounts of zinc in the body can result in acne formation. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, using a topical form of zinc in combination with a topical antibiotic erythromycin helps to stop acne.

Grains

Grains are high in B vitamins, which help to treat acne. Thaimine or vitamin B1 helps to promote healthy blood circulation in the skin and acts an antioxidant towards acne.Riboflavin or vitamin B2 is also important for healthy skin, while pantothenic acid or vitamin B5 aids the body in dealing with stress, which can result in acne.
