However, there are some foods that can help teens get rid of their acne.

Fresh Fruits

Ensuring the diet is filled with plenty of fresh fruits is a good way to stave off acne, especially as a teen. During your developmental years, you need plenty of nutrition to grow into a healthy adult with clear skin. Add fruit to your diet for plenty of Vitamin C and a healthier body free of toxins. When you are free of toxins, you are free of acne.

Fresh Vegetables

Make sure that your meals have plenty of vegetables in them as well. Vegetables are full of vitamins and minerals that your body needs to stay healthy and to promote an efficient digestive system. This, in turn, helps your body flush out toxins, rather than forcing them out through your skin. Four to five servings of vegetables a day should suffice.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water is one of the best ways to promote clearer skin, no matter your age. Staying hydrated keeps the skin moisturized and healthy-looking. It also keeps the pores clearer and prevents toxins from building up in your system. Eight 8 oz. glasses of water a day will work wonders to keep your skin clearer.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is an essential vitamin for a variety of reasons. You can get it by eating fish or taking fish oil supplements. It helps reduce inflammation and redness caused by acne, which promotes healing. To really amp up the effects of Vitamin A, take a zinc supplement as well.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Another essential substance for the skin is the Omega-3 fatty acid. This fatty acid nourishes the skin by maintaining cell membranes. This reduces the look of redness and irritation caused by acne, and prevents new blemishes from sprouting up. You can get Omega-3s from avocados and some fish, or you could take a supplement.
