Blemishes happen to most people at some point, and are usually treated with over-the-counter skin care products. However, these products often contain harsh chemical ingredients that can irritate and inflame the skin. You can use effective natural remedies in order to clear the skin fast without irritating it.

Pore Flush

Flush out pores, which is an effective and inexpensive way to get rid of acne. Use a non-comedogenic oil on the skin, such as castor, jojoba or olive oil. Massage the oil into the skin for three to five minutes, then allow it to remain on the skin for up to 10 additional minutes. Then apply steam or hot water to open the pores and release the entrapment. To apply steam, drape a steaming hot washcloth over the face, or lean over a bowl of boiling water for five minutes. Afterward, wipe the skin clean with a damp washcloth or towel. The blockages will drain out of the pores along with the non-comedogenic oil, allowing the pores to become more clear and acne-free. Use an oil-based pore flush on the skin up to two times per day.

Sugar and Baking Soda Scrub

Apply a scrub to the skin, which removes impurities and dead skin that could potentially clog the pores and cause acne. When using an abrasive substance on the skin, use one that's natural and gentle. Two substances that make highly effective scrubs are baking soda and table sugar. To apply the substances to the skin, combine 1 tbsp. baking soda and 1 tbsp. sugar in a bowl, and drizzle 2 tsp. water into them. The mixture should then be spread onto wet skin and gently massaged in for at least two minutes before rinsing it off. The skin can be scrubbed in this manner once per day.

Tea Tree Toner

Use a 5 percent solution of tea tree oil. The Department of Dermatology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital suggests that this solution can be just as effective in clearing acne as benzoyl peroxide cream, and doesn't irritate or inflame the skin as benzoyl peroxide cream can. Dilute tea tree oil by combining five drops of tea tree oil with 8 oz. water. The diluted oil can be applied up to three times per day.
