Enzyme Peel Directions
An enzyme peel uses fruit ingredients to create a skin product designed to exfoliate. Enzymes are proteins used to catalyze, or enable, chemical reactions. In a skin peel, these enzymes come from different types of fruit, such as papaya or pineapple. The peel removes the top layer of the skin to expose new cells underneath. Since an enzyme peel works with natural ingredients, it may be less severe and drying than chemical peels, and still provide a fresh, new radiance for your skin.
Mix the peel if it is a powder formula. The ratio is one part powder and one part activating gel. If your product comes premixed, just pump a small amount onto your fingertips. Apply the peel to a cleaned area on forearm and leave it for the recommended time. Wash off the test spot and watch for skin reactions over 24 hours. Check for signs of allergic reaction, such as redness, rash or swelling.
Cleanse the skin thoroughly with a mild cleanser. Pat skin dry with a clean towel.
Apply a skin toner to clean the skin. Let the toner air dry. Do not wash off.
Mix the peel. Smooth the peel over the affected area. Follow the time recommendations included with the product. Some peels work overnight like a face cream.
Wash the product off with cool water and pat dry.
