Beauty Tips for Clear, Pimple-Free, Healthy Skin

Clear, pimple-free, healthy skin requires dedication and persistence, but it doesn't require hours of time, and it isn't necessary to invest in expensive skin care products. Select a simple skin-care routine that will be easy to perform every morning and every night. Avoid complicated skin-care routines that you won't be as likely to maintain.


Wash your face every morning and every night, no matter what. Use a gentle cleanser formulated for your skin type. Let your pores breathe and avoid wearing makeup as often as possible. Remove every trace of makeup before you go to bed at night.


Smooth on a toner after washing your face, as toner will remove any remaining oil, dirt or makeup, and will restore the pH balance of your skin. Toners also contain lightweight moisturizers and antioxidants. Use a toner formulated for your skin type. Avoid toners that contain witch hazel, fragrance, menthol, mint, acetone, citrus, camphor or alcohol. Never use a toner that stings or burns your skin.

Sun Protection

Protect your skin from the sun's damaging rays. Apply sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more at least twice every day. Apply the sunscreen more often if you're spending all day in the sunshine. Use a non-comodogenic sunscreen that won't clog your pores if you have oily skin. Wear a large-brimmed hat to protect your face.

Healthy Eating

Eat a healthy diet that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables, including leafy vegetables and green and red vegetables. Avoid sugar and fried foods and limit coffee, alcohol and red meat. Drink at least 8 ounces of water every day. Take a multivitamin every day.
