Whether you are a man or a woman, your skin texture changes as you age. Older skin begins to lose its elasticity and suppleness, which makes fine lines, dryness and large pores bigger issues than they are in younger skin. These changes require you to modify your skin care products and routines.

You should moisturize your skin in the morning and at night if you are more than 50 years old. The two applications of moisturizer will help minimize the appearance of fine lines on your face. You should also use makeup that contains moisturizers to keep your skin hydrated.
Sunscreen is especially important to your skin if you are older than 50. The ultraviolet radiation from the sun can cause permanent damage to the skin. The cumulative effects of the sun on older skin can cause the skin to age prematurely. Look for sunscreen products with a high SPF rating to protect your skin when you go outside.
Many skin care products are specifically designed for aging skin. Eye creams that contain arbutin or caffeine can reduce the puffiness under your eyes that can occur in people over 50. A sunless tanning lotion can minimize the appearance of varicose veins.
