Back acne also known as Bacne or body acne usually appears on the back, upper arms and the buttocks in the form of pimples, blackheads, pustules and cysts.
Exfoliation should be used regularly to prevent back acne and to get rid of dead skin cells that appear and gather on the back, buttocks and back of the arms. Sugar scrub should also be used in the shower on a weekly basis. Back acne tends to occur due to following reasons:
  • Overproduction of the sebaceous glands around puberty or during hormonal changes.
  • Tight clothing forcing perspiration and causing irritation.
  • Rubbing of skin due to carrying a heavy bag causing irritation
The most common and convenient method of treating back acne is benzoyl peroxide cream or gel. Following are some useful steps to follow in order to treat back acne quickly and safely:
  • Wash the back with an anti-bacterial cleanser but remember not to use regular soap.
  • Once the skin gets dried apply alpha hydroxy lotion
  • Once the lotion gets dried apply approximately 10 percent benzoyl peroxide gel or cream on the affected areas.
  • In the end apply moisturizer if required.

These steps are effective for treating mild forms of back acne. In case of severe conditions one should get it immediately treated by a dermatologist.

Eating disorder such as using excess oily and fat food does not give rise to back acne and does not effect its development as it does in case of other types of acne but in order to overcome doubts it is recommended to adjust your diet for a period of time to observe the improvements. Back Acne is also not caused by heredity and genetic disposition except in severe Conditions.
