Acne prone skin is characterized by pimples, blemishes, papules, pustules, redness, whiteheads and blackheads. Susceptibility to develop acne increases due to various internal and external stimuli.

Internal stimuli may be fluctuation in hormones during puberty and pregnancy, bacterial or fungal infection within hair follicles, nutritional deficiency, weak immune system and accumulation of toxins. External stimuli may be ultraviolet rays of sun, environmental pollution, dryness, harsh cosmetics, detergents in soaps etc.

Thus, internal and external stimuli make your skin susceptible and acne prone. It is not necessary that what causes acne in one person, must cause in another. It depends upon the immune response from your body.

The most common type of acne that people develop due to external stimuli is referred to as contact dermatitis. It may be caused due to allergic effects.

Skin susceptibility depends upon the environment you are in. People working in chemical industry are more prone to develop skin sensitivity. You must avoid harsh environment. If the skin susceptibility is caused due to weak immune system, you must strengthen your immune system.

Oily skin is more prone to develop acne than dry skin. If your skin is oily, diagnose its causes. Most often, oily skin is the result of hormonal imbalance and nutritional deficiency.

Balanced nutrition is essential for healthy growth. Vitamins and minerals take part in hormones and catalyst production. Hormones and catalysts accelerate the rate of metabolism and catabolism resulting in faster growth of skin tissues and repairing of damaged hair follicles.

What should I do if I have acne prone skin?
Herbal remedies are rapidly proliferating these days instead of synthetic medications. Although synthetic remedies are effective, it produces side effects and increase skin susceptibility by weakening immune system and they are expensive. Scientists agree that antibiotics although destroy bacterial and fungal colonies, it weakens your immune system.

Always use herbal remedies for skin care and other common ailments. Avoid antibiotics as much as you can.

You can buy herbal supplements that contain all essential vitamins, nutrients and astringents. Astringents are chemical compounds that kill bacteria. Thus, an herbal tonic is a complete solution for your skin. Though there is no magic treatment to eliminate susceptibility completely, herbal tonics reduce it to greatest extent.

Conclusion:
Acne prone skin is a common concern among those who spend most of their time in harsh environment, work in chemical industry, have nutritional deficiency and weak immune system.

Although it can not be eliminated completely, it can be reduced using herbal remedies. Topical herbal remedies are more effective for treating skin susceptibility.
