5 Day Acne Home Remedy
Acne is an inflammatory disease of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles of the skin that is marked by the eruption of pimples. Inflammation occurs when your skin pores become clogged with dirt and oils depriving them of oxygen. Acne can affect both sexes and people of all ages, although teenagers are the most affected demographic. It is treated by removing bacteria and soothing inflammation.
Wash your face every day. This is the simplest way to prevent dirt and oils from clogging your skin's pores. Use antibacterial soap and cleans gently with warm water.
Apply a thin mask of honey to your face daily. According to a study at the University of Amsterdam, Revamil, a medical-grade honey, is a promising topical antimicrobial agent for the prevention or treatment of infections, including those caused by multi-drug-resistant bacteria. Use pure, natural honey to gain the most out of its anti-microbial properties. Wash the honey off after an hour.
Apply 5 percent tea tree gel to your face daily. According to MayoClinic.com, research suggests that over-the-counter gels containing 5 percent tea tree oil may be an effective treatment option for mild to moderate acne. Topical applications of tea tree oil may help reduce bacteria, lessening inflammation and improving acne symptoms, notes the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Apply benzoyl peroxide cream to your face daily. Benzoyl peroxide is an over-the-counter agent used to treat mild to moderate acne. It also comes in soap, lotion and gel form. Do not administer benzoyl peroxide to children age 12 or younger before talking to your doctor.
Create a paste of ginger and milk. Apply this paste to your face overnight. Wash in the morning with soap and water. Ginger has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties which make it a viable home remedy for acne. However, consult your dermatologist before using ginger to treat your skin problems.
